General Information

The Vall de Gallinera is a municipality composed of eight small urban centers that are called: Benirrama, Benialí, Benissivà, Benitaia, Carroja, Alpatró, Llombai and Benissili. It is located in the northernmost part of the province of Alicante, in the interior of the Marina Alta region, and borders the province of Valencia.

Our history

The first signs of human presence in La Vall de Gallinera date back to the Middle Palaeolithic Period (100,000-50,000 BC) as evidenced by the materials found in the archaeological excavations of La Cova d’En Pardo. Mesolithic, neolithic and eneolithic materials have also been found in this and other caves.
